SM City Bacolod will once again celebrate Earth Hour along with other SM Supermalls on March 31, 2012 at the Northwing Front-Covered Walk.
The collective support of the Filipino people made last year’s Earth Hour a resounding success for the Philippines, with the country ranking #1 worldwide in terms of scale of public participation. The results of last year’s Earth Hour have led to significant power savings and more importantly, greater prospects for meaningful and sustained actions against climate change.
For Earth Hour 2012, cities and towns all over the world will switch off their lights for one hour at 8:30 PM, sending an even stronger message to take action on global warming. SM Supermalls will again join over one billion people in more than 6,000 cities, towns, and municipalities worldwide in this symbolic act, in response to the environmental realities the world faces today.
This year, we invite you to do more than switch off your lights. We want you to dare the world to save the planet. "I Will If You Will" is a simple campaign and a challenge. Dare anyone to accept your challenge and help protect the Earth or accept the challenge of someone else.
The program at SM City Bacolod will start at 8PM, which will be a series of pledges from different performances of local artists leading to the ceremonial switch-off come 8:30PM.
