In celebration of the National Arts Month this February, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) SANDAYAW Cultural Group will perform on February 26, Saturday, at 4pm at the Northwing Event Centre of SM City Bacolod.

Dubbed “100 Dances in 100 Minutes: Celebrating a Century of Filipino Folk & Ethnic Dances", the dance ensemble will showcase Philippine Folk and Ethnic Dances entitled Highland Cordilleras, Maria Clara, Mindanao Tapestry, Lumad Suite, and Rural/Countryside.

The UPLB SANDAYAW Cultural Group, formed in July 2, 2004, aims to promote cultural awareness through Philippine folk and ethnic dances. The group is composed of students from the different colleges of the University of the Philippines Los Baños bound by their passion to dance and to be bearers of the country’s rich tradition. These students continue to stand together, and stomp their feet to the sounds of the rondalla, gangsa, agong, and the kulintangan.

Sandayaw is a university-based organization recognized by the UPLB Office of the Student Affairs and is under the Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts.
