The monthly Seniors’ Day at the mall featured a Pre-Valentine Concert of Ms. Edith Rubillo who serenaded fellow senior citizens with Ilonggo Medley and Folk Songs, English Love Songs, Tagalog, Cebuano, French, Italian and Spanish Songs at the Northwing Event Centre of SM City Bacolod recently.

The event, which has become a lifestyle for senior citizens every second Tuesday of the month, also became the venue to formally introduced the newly elected officers of the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of Bacolod City. They were Atty. Pedrito Esquilla, president, Atty. Vicente Petierre, vice-president, Estelita Torrecarion, secretary, Alfredo Mendoza, treasurer, Jimmy Chua, auditor and board of trustees Catalino Alisbo, Basilica Atienza, Lilia Anas, Siegfredo Magalona, Teresita Lino-on, Jorge Joniega, Nena Cabalo, Ernesto Montebon, Nenita Lumauag, and Evangeline Tingala.

The Seniors’ Day at the mall was highlighted by the Singing of Happy Birthday and blowing of cake candles by the birthday celebrators for the month of February.

In celebration of the Valentines Season, approximately 350 members of the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of Bacolod (FSCAB) came in their red attire while some rendered special entertainment numbers.

FSCAB former president Councilor Catalino Alisbo, who at the same time is the president of the federation, also expressed gratitude to the overwhelming support of the senior citizens to the program introduced by SM that provides venue for them to recreate every month. Alisbo commended and thanked SM for initiatives that focus on the welfare of the elderly.

Alisbo was instrumental to the success of the Seniors’ Day at SM City Bacolod which started in July last year. Last month, Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Ms. Rebecca Rascon conducted a lecture on How to Start a Business for senior citizens.
