It’s R-Day or Recycling Market Day on December 3 - 4, 2010 from 8AM - 2PM at the North Transport Terminal of SM City Bacolod. After a series of successful Waste Market Fairs that revealed how environmentally conscious many Filipinos had become, all SM Supermalls nationwide have become trading places for goods that can be recycled.

Just like in the previous Recycling Market Fairs, shoppers can trade their traditional and non-traditional waste items into cash at the Recycling Market Day. Traditional waste items include paper, plastic, PET bottles, tin cans, metal and cartons, while non-traditional wastes include ink cartridges, electronic wastes, computer printers, and appliances.

SM Supermalls started the Waste Market Fair in support to Republic Act 9003 or the Solid Waste Management Act. At the Waste Market Fair, one can transact business with recycling companies and exchange recyclable items for cash. The latter include items that have no value or those that are considered hazardous like polystyrene, Styrofoam, cellphones and batteries.
