To continue its campaign to improve special care and treatment for the elderly, SM City Bacolod and the SM Committee on Senior Citizens Affairs will organize the Seniors' Day at the Mall today – July 13, 2010 – from 2-4PM at the mall's Northwing Event Centre.

The Seniors' Day at the Mall will be highlighted by the Wellness Health Care Program which will feature lectures on How to Detect Stroke & Other Illnesses, and Taking Care of Your Eyesight to be conducted by Drs. Babylyn Drilon of the Bacolod City Health Office and Melissa Anglo of Anglo Eye Care Center, respectively.

In cooperation with the Federation of Senior Citizens of Bacolod through Councilor Catalino Alisbo, around 40 senior citizens from different barangays of Bacolod City will join in this one-day event.

There will also be Pampering Booths to be participated by SM tenants which will offer cost-free services for the senior citizens such as haircut, eye check-up and blood pressure taking.

The senior citizens will also be treated to an afternoon of Music of Yesteryears by one of Bacolod's favorite Pianist and Organist Mr. Bagguer Villaluz.

Last month, SM City Bacolod has also partnered with the Art Asssociation of Bacolod come up with an Art Fundamental Workshop for the senior citizens conducted by Rafael “Paeng” Paderna, one of the city's most respected artists and a former president of AAB.

The wide acceptance of SM's senior citizen priority policies and programs has motivated the mall management to think of other ways it can to serve the elderly customers. The Seniors' Day at the Mall will be held regularly in all SM malls every second Tuesday of the month until December 2010.
