As complement to SM's efforts in prioritizing the welfare of the senior citizens, the mall will hold an Elderly Painting Workshop for the Elderly on May 20, 2010 from 10AM – 12NN at the mall's Northwing Event Centre.

Dubbed “Senior Master at SM”, the workshop will be conducted by Rafael “Paeng” Paderna, one of the city's most respected artists and a member of the Art Association of Bacolod. His brass sculpture, The Birdman, received a trophy from the Art Association of the Philippines.

SM has tapped the Bacolod Cathedral through Fr. Felix Pasquin and the Federation of Senior Citizens of Bacolod through Councilor Catalino Alisbo for the senior citizens who will participate in the workshop.

Meanwhile, SM Supermalls recognizes the senior market as one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country thus it is only fitting that due care and recognition be given to them. SM believes that the plight of the elders of our society must be given priority.

SM has also improved its mall facilities to be elderly-friendly by creating priority lanes for the senior citizens, priority seating signages for the elderly and other priority notices have been strategically installed in SM malls to remind the public to always give the elderly the respect and care they deserve.
